Padric & Eddy: A Tale of Two Kitties!

When our beloved tomcat (Silas) of 14 years passed away, we received sympathy mail & email from all over the country
and several foreign countries. We were also inundated with offers of more cats.

We really wanted a rescue cat, so we decided to have a contest. The Cat House and Capitol Humane Society each put jars on our counter. Customers "voted" with their dollars and contributed to the organization from whom they wanted us to get our new cat. (Many good people gave equally to both shelters!)

In just four weeks, we raised $1,500 for Capitol Humane Society & $3,100 for The Cat House! We gave the funds to the shelters and went to The Cat House to look for a new shop cat.

Eddy, a gregarious fellow, distinguished himself right away. We spent lots of time in his room before moving on. We saw many wonderful cats
but came back to Eddy. While playing with Eddy, another kitty snuggled up to us. Padric had been hidden away, sleeping, so we missed him entirely during our first visit. Cinnamon played with Eddy; Katherine cuddled with Padric...and we adopted both.

They now reside in the bookstore and have many friends & fans. Eddy is the huge, spotted guy. Padric has the white star on his back. They are good buddies.

Submit your photo or video of our cats via email
we'll put it on this page!
